We are offering...
An elegant pair of Brass sabbath candlesticks from the 19th century.
Its Brass is adorned with fruitful motifs of grapes, vines, & leaves.
These candlesticks were made in Warsaw, Poland, based on its
marks. The marks can be found on the underside of the candlesticks
feet in a single corner. Circa 1860-90
In Abrahamic religions, the Sabbath is a day set aside for rest and
worship. According to the Book of Exodus, the Sabbath is a day of
rest on the seventh day, commanded by God to be kept as a holy
day of rest, as God rested from creation.
The Sabbath is observed in Judaism and Sabbatarian forms of
Christianity, such as many Protestant and Eastern denominations.
Marks:
Outside the perimeter of the triangle: “Wars-“ (Warsaw) “W.N.F.” “HOLF”
Inside the triangle reads: “GALW”
Approx. Dimensions:

Good age-related condition, the old clear lacquer finish is flaking off throughout on both sticks. The
