In this listing we have the original outfit that was worn by Christie in the recently released “50 Years of Friendship” Mod Reproduction Gift Set”. It’s a really lovely recreation of the mod outfit “Tangerine Scene”. It consists of a bright pink (I think nylon) bodysuit with bell sleeves that are gathered with elastic at the wrists, and a plaid wrap skirt with an attached vinyl waistband and a vinyl trim around the skirt. This outfit is designed to fit the reproduction Barbie body, which is based off of the classic 1966 Barbie body. The body suit closes in the back with a plastic snap and the skirt closes in the front with a metal snap. This outfit is a reproduction and not vintage.
This outfit has never been played with or displayed. Overall it’s in very good shape, but it does have a few issues. The top stitching at the neckline and down the front of the bodice is a little uneven when you compare the right and left side. It’s not terrible, but it is noticeable. There are some excess stitches in the back and at the inside seams on the arms and legs. The stitching on the top of the snap is a little sloppy. The skirt looks good. There’s some excess threads on the front where the waistband is sewn to the skirt. The vinyl trim around the skirt tends to want to flip upwards, but that’s just the nature of the material. There are some minor indents on the vinyl waistband from how it was held in the box. The shoes are in very nice shape. There are noticeable seam lines them, include some that go straight down the front of the shoes. There are some excess plastic in a few places as well. Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of the outfit.
